Handprinted Fabric Swap III
I love this design and thought about just doing the typewriters all over the fabric, but with no mosaics and some of my partners have no blogs or Flickr I wasn't sure of their taste, so I went with 4 different designs which can then be fussy cut.
This book is fantastic as the plastic stencils are included and there are 25 of them. The book also contains ideas to use the stencils as embroidery patterns, tattoos or for cutting hair through...but Tim wasn't keen on this.

Forest QAL
1. Woodpecker Block 1 {Forest QAL}, 2. Feathers {Forest QAL} (2)
Embroidery Inspiration
I find that you can get great inspiration from children's colouring books. These fun little sea creatures, found on a menu, would look brilliant as an embroidery or a small motif on a child's T-shirt.
I had a lovely birthday weekend away at Trebarwith Strand....not in the Port William hotel - in the van! But this was the view....stunning location.
The National Trust, Old Post Office in Tintagel has some lovely antique samplers on display - but difficult to photograph! Many were stitched by 9 year olds!!
And out in the garden I was surprised to see a Snake's Head Fritillary in bloom so early.
Pasties for lunch...it was also St Piran's day last Tuesday....patron saint of Cornwall.
A fabulous weekend xx

Old Swap - New Swap
Old swap first...
This fabulous iPad mini pouch arrived from CoincidentallyQuilting over on Flickr from the Fab Little Random Treasure Swap. What you can't see it the super soft lining....if it was a little bigger I would sleep in it.
....and then there was also the extras....a superb needle case filled with ready made hexies and fabric to die for!
New Swap
I saw a few of you signing up for this Handprinted fabric swap organized by Leslie Keating from Maze & Vale blog and eventually took the plunge. The following 2 fabrics I printed up last year ( and Emily bought them...my first and only customer!), but this year I think I will try stencilling from this book by Ed Roth. I'm thinking I will do several designs for fussy cutting, rather than one design in an overall pattern.
1. Mustard cow parsley handprinted card, 2. Bicycle Fabric Patch, hand stenciled by Janet Bike Girl, 3. Gray folk deer by Craft Captive, 4. bunnies, 5. HPFS2, 6. printing up a custom order...very French!, 7. stormy weather in overcast on white cotton, 8. Dandelion Block Print
......and a few more
1. Untitled, 2. hand printed notebook, 3. green and gold proteas, 4. Untitled, 5. handprinted fabric, 6. dandeloin-lge-moss-flat
I love the Babushkas from Mikodesign who has a blog and an Etsy shop....yummy!
